Client Information & Terms
I am looking forward to meeting you and your horse. Each session is tailored to the individual, with a focus on comfort, performance and overall wellbeing.
Appointment times are allocated specifically for you and your horse.
Please take a moment to read through the information below before your appointment, as it covers everything you need to know to ensure your session runs smoothly.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Please ensure your horse is clean and dry ready for their appointment.
For bodywork, Reiki, bridle measures or comfort check appointments, a clean, safe and dry area must be available to work in. For ridden bit fittings, a suitable safe surface must be used.
Bodywork sessions may include stretching where appropriate. Please advise me in advance if your horse is not comfortable having their feet picked up or their limbs handled.
Preparing your horse as outlined above allows the session to run on time and ensures you get the full benefit of your appointment.
VETERINARY GUIDANCE
As a qualified equine bodyworker, I work within my professional scope and will not diagnose or treat medical conditions.
Where necessary, I will recommend referral to your vet or another appropriate equine professional to ensure your horse receives the most suitable care.
Veterinary consent is not required for routine bodywork provided your horse is not under current veterinary care. If your horse is under veterinary supervision, written consent from your vet must be obtained and provided prior to the appointment, in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966.
A full clinical history forms an important part of your horse’s assessment. Please have the following information available:
• Date of last saddle fit and any relevant findings
• Date of last dentist and farrier visits
• Veterinary history and any ongoing treatment
• Current workload and activities
CONTRAINDICATIONS
There are certain conditions where treatment may not be appropriate. You must inform me prior to your appointment if your horse is showing or has recently experienced any of the following:
• Lameness
• Open wounds
• Skin conditions (e.g. ringworm)
• Contagious disease
• Elevated temperature
• Recent surgery
• Signs of colic
• Abnormal discharge from the nose, eyes or mouth
SAFETY
The handler remains responsible for the horse at all times during the appointment.
For the safety of all involved, I reserve the right to stop a session at any point if a horse is considered unsafe to work with. In this situation, the full appointment fee will remain payable.
CANCELLATIONS & FEES
A £10 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. This deposit is deducted from your total balance on the day.
Cancellation charges are applied as follows:
• Cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment: charged at the full appointment fee
• Cancellations between 48 hours and 4 days before the appointment: charged at 50% of the appointment fee
Appointments may be rescheduled up to once, within 21 days of the original appointment date. Only one reschedule is permitted per booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. Rescheduled appointments do not carry a further reschedule entitlement.
Payment of any outstanding balance is due on the day of the appointment, or within 24 hours if paying by invoice. Late payments may result in a delay to future bookings being accepted.
Fees may be waived at my sole discretion in exceptional circumstances, such as sudden serious illness or bereavement. This discretion is applied individually and does not set a precedent for future bookings.
