About Me

I have been obsessed with horses since I was 3 years old and had my first ride on a shetland on the beach.  Fast forward several years, I decided to study equine massage therapy after I struggled to get a professional out to my mare, Cordy.  She would always "put her back out" after cavorting around the field and would sometimes be unrideable for a few weeks at a time until someone came to put her back together.  It was the best decision I made and, after a while, I thought how amazing it would be to be able to help other horses and their owners who were in a similar situation.  Cordy was not only the inspiration behind my business but also the inspiration for my logo.  She really left some big hooves to fill, but my little thoroughbred, Bob, is doing his best!

I love running my business and spend hours planning things behind the scenes.  I use this as a legitimate reason to buy glittery pens and lots of notebooks for all the ideas, it's not like I have a stationery obsession or anything...  I am a dog-mum, a horse-mum and am married to the Flying Hooves IT Department, who tells me he would rather be at band camp, but I know he loves fixing my tech when I break it!

I read, I write articles and my blog, I play violin and cello quite badly and am in love with all things country & western.  Definitely a sedate and fair weather only rider, I'm the first to admit that I prefer to stay on the ground nowadays!

After a rather long time in the corporate world, I upped and left to focus on Flying Hooves and then Pattering Pawz was born.  Click the link to discover Pattering Pawz on Facebook and watch this space for lots of newness coming to this part of my business in 2024-25, including canine massage therapy!  If you would like to register your interest and be the first to hear about this, you can do so here.
